I was commissioned by The Climbing Hangar to design and create a mural to bring some colour to the front-of-house area of their new climbing gym in Southampton. As an avid climber, the chance to combine my love of bouldering with painting was incredibly exciting!
The brief was intentionally relaxed and focused on abstract shapes inspired by bouldering. It was important to TCH that the mural incorporated a colour palette aligned with their brand identity, along with the three words synonymous with their spaces: CLIMB – TRAIN – HANG.
Huge thanks to Kay Bain for her art direction and relaxed approach to the brief, it’s always a pleasure to be given so much creative freedom on a project.
